I couldn't actually finish reading this reflection, it is so disheartening. I'm trying to imagine what the parents of the Sex Week celebrants can be thinking.

Thank you so much for such a beautiful reflection. The entire student body (as well as faculty and staff) would benefit from reading it. I hope those that do deeply consider your words and turn towards the path of knowledge and virtue.

What is the structure of Harvard's relationship to Sex Week? Is the sponsoring group an undergraduate organization that receives communal funding? Who makes the decisions on funding and use of Harvard venues? Is this the best structure for undergraduate organizations and their funding?

Good evening, Michael.

In short, 1) Harvard hosted Sex Week which 2) was put on by an official student organization, which in turn 3) receives money from a number of Harvard-affiliated grants and organizations. The student org responsible did not respond to request for comment.

Please see this article for more info on the events and organization responsible (https://substack.com/home/post/p-151325388).

Best,

Richard Rodgers

How far our august institutions have fallen from their original mission of supporting intelligent and moral citizenry. Perish the thought of what Harvard’s founders would think of today’s pagan displays on campus. Your reflection on the dignity of man and profound human relationships is a breath of fresh air that will blow away the stench of debauchery. Perhaps, in an effort to allow equal time, there should be a Week of Genuine Connection where students can meet one another in a space to connect with those who share mutual respect. Perhaps that’s what a great percentage of the student body is actually seeking to achieve.

Brilliant prose that reflects what most of us feel but rarely put into words like this.
